Greetings from the Governor of Aichi Prefecture

Companies in Aichi Prefecture are facing a chronic shortage of engineers and other human resources sought by companies, particularly in the manufacturing industry. In addition, with the rapid aging of the population and declining birthrate, the working-age population of Aichi Prefecture is expected to decline in the future, making it an urgent issue to strengthen efforts to acquire human resources in the industrial sector.
On the other hand, there are more than 6,000 excellent foreign students studying at universities and other institutions in Aichi Prefecture, and although approximately 70% of them hope to find employment in Japan, the employment rate remains at around 30%. A questionnaire survey conducted by the prefecture revealed that the main reason for this mismatch in job seeking and job offers is that foreign students and companies do not know each other well and do not have opportunities to get to know each other.

We hope that by learning more about how to recruit international students and the benefits they bring after being hired, companies will become more aware of how to recruit international students and create an environment in which international students can play an active role in our region.
